Princess Durru Shehvar Medical Aid Society (PDSCMAS) endowed from the main-stream of H.E.H. the Nizam's Charitable Trust was founded on 19th January 1983 to cater to the health and educational needs of the people of the local community. To fulfill these goals, the  Princess Durru Shehvar Children's & General Hospital (PDSC&GH) was established on 16th March 1989. Since there was an acute shortage of trained and qualified medical, paramedical and nursing personnel, courses in these disciplines were started by PDSC&GH.

The recent boom in global job opportunities for trained and qualified nurses saw a mass exodus of nurses for better job opportunities abroad. The resulting acute shortage of nurses was sorely felt. Hence PDSCMAS started a College of Nursing  in November, 2003. A four storied building with a state of art infrastructure accommodates the Princess Durru Shehvar College of Nursing (PDSCON).

Since Princess Esin Women's Educational Centre (PEWEC), a sister institution working under the aegis of the Nizamia Hyderabad Women's Association Trust (NHWAT) is already running the General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) course at Princess Esin School of Nursing (PESON) and has nearly two decades’ expertise in nursing education to it's credit, PDSCMAS sought the collaboration of PEWEC to run the Princes Durru Shehvar College of Nursing (PDSCON) under it's management. PDSCON is now full fledged College of Nursing recognized as one among the best colleges of nursing.
