Princess Durru Shehvar Children’s & General Hospital (PDSC&GH) was established in the year 1989 with a mission to provide quality medical care to pregnant women ( ante and post natal care) and medical care facilities for children and adults.

With a commendable track record of over 17 event filled fruitful years, PDSC&GH has grown into a multispecialty hospital offering reliable medical care. It is a non-profit, charity hospital run by the Princess Durru Shehvar Medical Aid Society (PDSCMAS) (registered and recognized as a charitable society under section 12 AA(1)(b)(i) of the income tax act 1961).

Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Cardiology, General Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Orthopaedics, Nephrology, Urology, Physiotherapy, Dental Care, Reconstructive Dentistry, Ophthalmology, E.N.T and Alternate Medicines. The State of Art Diagnostic laboratory of the hospital is one of the largest with the capacity to undertake all types of investigations with sophisticated automated analyzers. The lab is manned by skilled and experienced staff and is certified as one among the best in the country by none other than the Christian Medical College, Vellore.

Ambulance

PDSC&GH has a 24 hour ambulance service for the prompt and safe transport of patients to the hospital. The ambulances are well equipped with first-aid medical requirements manned by competent staff to attend to emergencies.

Social Responsibility

PDSC&GH frequently organizes free medical camps for cataract surgery, public awareness programs on diabetes, life style related disorders, AIDS, mother & child care, well baby shows, education programs on immunization and importance of diet & nutrition on a regular basis. Continuing Medical Education programs are organized through seminars & workshops on the general advancement in the treatment of Cardiology, Neonatology, Gastroenterology, Obstetrics, & Gynaecology, Orthopaedics and Emergency care. Charity/concession/subsidy is given to poor and deserving patients.

The hospital is a certified teaching hospital for PG courses and Diploma courses (DNB) in Peadiatrics, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Radiology, General Medicine and Pathology. It also offers Paramedical courses for Multi-Purpose-Health-Workers (MPHW-Females), Cardiology Technicians and Dark Room
Assistants (DRA).The hospital has also established new colleges for B.Sc. Nursing, Medical Lab Technology and Physiotherapy, affiliated to the Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada and recognized by the A.P. State Government and the Indian Nursing Council /Indian Medical Council. The hospital also offers the CT- scan & Dialysis Technician’s certificate courses
